One of my best girlfriends for 15+ years and I try to take a girl’s trip every couple of years. Our first trip was to NYC in the dead heat of summer. This time, we decided to head to California!
She has family that lives in San Diego, so I flew there to meet her there. We woke up bright and early the next day and caught a flight to San Luis Obispo Regional Airport. This airport is about a 45-minute drive to Paso, so we rented a car and continued with it!
First, Paso Robles is the PERFECT destination for a couple’s weekend getaway or a girl’s trip! We had the absolute best time.
Once we arrived, we immediately sought out food (and wine!). We went to Thomas Organics, a yummy place right off the square. They had a great local wine selection, and all of their food tasted divine and fresh! Once we finished lunch, we decided we needed to go shopping because why not? We found this cute little boutique (that I can not remember the name of!) and got these adorable Western hats. The first winery we ended up going to was this small place called Five Oaks Winery. The vibe was GREAT, and the people were better. We went to get espresso martinis and then found a speakeasy called Eleven Twenty-Two. It was so cool, but you had to put your phones in a locked bag, so I could not get pictures.
The following day was our big winery day! We went to Eberle Winery, Opolo Winery, and Niner. All were incredible and different in their own ways. I think Eberle has a great tour, Opolo has great wine and a lovely tasting room, and Niner is just gorgeous! They all had their perks, and I am glad we went to those three – they are three of the bigger ones!
I have told my husband numerous times that we need to go here for a weekend away. It was so much fun. The square is also very cute and charming! Without a doubt, I can say I will be back, and Paso Robles gets a 10/10 from me!
