Green Bay Packers Game? Here’s What You Need to Know (Round 2)
It’s magical. It’s old. It’s Lambeau Field! This is our second time in Green Bay for a Packers game and it did not disappoint! (You can check out our first trip HERE) Now, we won the game we went to (thank goodness) but the atmosphere has been excellent both times! We went to the Home opener this year and OMG–it was so much fun! There was even a free Train concert?!
Travel & Accommodations
We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn this time around. It was just a block away from the Best Western where we stayed last year. The Hilton is a bit farther out of the way, but still a GREAT location in relation to the stadium–only about a 10-minute walk! We also decided that we did not want to rent a car, so we just flew straight into Green Bay. While the flights are a tad more expensive, by the time you rent a car and pay for gas, it’s worth the extra charge! We did not even uber except to and from the airport. Everything we wanted to do was walkable from this hotel.
Food
A great place for booze and food is Titletown. I am sure I mentioned this in my last post about Green Bay, but you are right next to the stadium, can get Wisconsin staples (ahm, cheese curds) and they have good food and craft beer! All in all, it is a great atmosphere. They have a snow sled hill that it ready for kids to slide down during the winter, but while we were there (mid-September) it was just a nice grass area that people were picnicking on!
Tailgate Parties
We went to the same tailgate party that we went to last year, D2. But we think next time we head to Green Bay we are going to partake in the Bart Starr one. It is one hotel closer to the stadium, looks to be more entertaining (rather than just a DJ blaring music) better music, better accommodations, etc. While D2 is fun, Bart Starr just seems more our flow these days.
Honestly, win or lose, Green Bay is a magical place to go and watch a football game. There is something in the air that will make you want to yell “Go Pack Go” and slap hands with all of the strangers around you.
