With Christmas nearing closer and closer, a lot of us have vacation days we are taking! With that, I am sure that you have a laundry list of things to do: things to clean, people to see and places to go! But when all is said and done and you finally get a day, or even an afternoon to yourself, what do you do!? Here are my top 10 things to do on a day that I get to do my own thing!
Phone Case: Louis Vuitton || Slippers: Ugg || Blanket: Amazon || Mirror/Jewelry Box: Langria from Amazon || Face Masks: Sephora/Origins
1. Have a glass of wine || This is my favorite… I am a red wine kind of gal! I love ending my day with a glass (or two) of Pinot Noir. You know they do say that a glass of red wine a day helps prevent heart disease! I do not know if that is true or not, but hey, it is worth a shot! Dereks brother, Blake, is the other wine person of the family! We like pinot…lots.
2. Do a face mask || I have mentioned before but I LOVE Origins face masks! Their “Out of Trouble” mask is my go to! It smells like Vicks Vapor Rub and honestly makes your face look clearer the day after you wear it. Its insane! I am also a huge fan of their “Drink Up” mask. It is so refreshing and really gives your skin moisture which is a huge deal in the winter time! I also love their Retexturing, Charcoal, and By All Greens! All of them are amazing!!
3. Read || I will be the first to say that I do not read enough. I like to read before I go to bed but I honestly do not do it as much as I would like to! Reading before bed really gets me relaxed, so why not do it on a relaxing day! Sit by a window in your favorite chair, crack open a book, and get lost in the adventure. Right now, I am reading “Eat, Pray, Love“. I am sure all of you have heard about this book as it has been made into a movie, but its about this girl who goes on a journey across the world to find herself. I am all about books that are cute and lovey. I am only about 1/3 into this book so I don’t know how it plays out, so don’t tell me! I am also a political junkie as you may know, and the book “41: A Portrait of My Father” is incredible. Putting political ideologies aside, this book really showcases the love that George W. Bush has for his father. I cried. Its just so sweet.
4. Netflix Binge || Okay, you had to have known that this was going to be on the list! Right now, Derek and I are binge watching The Walking Dead. (I also had zero idea they had books?!) We honestly quit watching a couple of episodes in because I really felt like it was already so repetitive…and we had just began!!! But now, we picked it back up and are on Season 3! Whether you are watching The Walking Dead or Riverdale… its just always a good idea. (Still bitter that Netflix took off Friday Night Lights…. ILY Riggins) Please look at this shirt….I want it..
5. Take Your Dog On a Walk || Being outside to get exercise, sunlight, and time with your doggo… What more could you want in a day?! Henry loooooves going on walks! By the time we get home he crashes (thats not the point I swear). But for real, getting your pup out to stroll the streets and your getting sunlight and fresh air can make any task that much more enjoyable! I know I love taking Henry out and getting to spend time with him outside! One of our favorite places to go is the Bark Bar. It is a couple of blocks away and Henry gets to play with other dogs, swim (ugh), and get lots of loving while Mom and Dad play giant jenga and have a few drinks! It is seriously so much fun! If you’re ever in the Little Rock with your pup, go check it out! You will not be disappointed!
We are now three days away from Christmas and four days away from VACATION! I will probably only have 1/2 more posts until the end of the year and that makes me sad! I just started really getting back into it in October and it has been such a ride! I can not wait to see where I am this time next year with my blog, and in my personal life! I am so excited to see all of my family this week. I have three little brothers and two of them are in the military. One gets to be home and attend school while the other is stationed in North Carolina. I am so excited for us all to be able to hang out and play guitar, sing, and play dirty santa! Family time really is the best!
I hope you guys have the best vacation/holiday/Christmas, or whatever else you may be doing! Until next time….
xoxo, Brooke Anne
**Disclaimer– With face masks, you have to have a clear face so all of this is ZERO makeup! I will update you all on my skincare regimen (Saranghae) that I started last week at the beginning of the year**
