One of the most commonly asked questions I get on Instagram have to do with my skincare, makeup and beauty products! There are some products that I have just loved, and some…. not so much. But today, this post is dedicated to all of the products that I tried in 2018 that I absolutely LOVE and do not see me turning away from them anytime soon!
1. Cover FX Mattifying Primer || Okay, so when I first started using this primer I did not like it very much! Then I realized I was using WAY too much. I lowered the amount I was using and it was like a light switch! 100x better! This is amazing for those of you who suffer from annoying acne (I sure do!). This primer has a salicylic acid in it to help reduce and prevent blemishes! One of my gal pals, Lakyn introduced me to this and I LOOOOVE.
2. Clinique Take the Day Off || I started using this in late 2017 and have never looked back! If you wear a full coverage foundation you would love this. It breaks up all of the makeup on your face and eyes and make the washing process so much easier. It has a balm consistency and does not leave your face feeling stripped once you rinse it off.
3. Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation || One of the BEST drugstore foundations. If you have oily skin, I definitely recommend the Matte and Poreless. It does not settle into my fine line as quick as some luxury brand foundations do, and it stays in place and only needs a little touch up. This stuff is goooooooood.
4. Loreal Telescopic Mascara || This is a HOLY GRAIL. So I heard of this Mascara from Dani Austin and holy smokes it is good! It lengthens like no other and does not get cakey. That is my favorite part about it!
5. Lancome CILS XL Eyelash Primer || And this eyelash primer saves the day. I heard about it from Dani as well and its amazing! I can definitely tell a difference in the volume of my lashes from when I wear this and when I dont. I am on my third tube so that should show you how much I love it!
6. Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask || I have been using this stuff for about a month now and I have never had lips so smooth! I use it before bed and in the morning. However, be sure to completely wipe it off before you apply lipstick because if you put a generous amount it is literally like a mask, not a chapstick.
7. Becca Ultimate Coverage Foundation || Lakyn told me about this foundation too! I really do like it. It is full coverage and goes on so easy! For me, I did have to touch up more frequently but I loved how it made my skin look so I did not mind 🙂
8. ABH Dipbrow Pomade || This is the only brow product I have used in about 3 years. One little tub of it lasts longer than you should probably keep it (8 months maybe)? I love how it goes on smooth and it stays put all day- even during a workout session!
9. Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation || This is the OG to me. I started using this foundation in 2016 and I love it! I like how it fills in my pores so my skin looks smooth and I really like the texture of it. I do not know how to explain it but I always come back to it!
10. Maybelline Fit Me Loose Powder || THIS STUFF IS AMAZING! I used it for a few months then tried the Laura Mercier powder again and….. I took it back! I use this for setting, baking, and touching up (which I normally do not have to do!). It gives me the lines to help carve my cheekbones and I really like it it keeps my under eye and nose set all day! #obsessed
11. Batiste Dry Shampoo || I used to hate Batiste, not going to lie. Then I had a friend tell me to try the tropical scent because that was the only one that worked on her hair. Well, I tried it agian and I can say that I am a believer. I used to spend so much money on luxury brand dry shampoo, and now I only use Batiste!
12. Grande Lash MD Serum || My #1 most asked questions is about my lashes. I have always had long lashes and never had to use a curler (Thanks genetics) but once I started using this they got LONG. It really only took a few weeks using it nightly for me to be able to tell a difference.. Now I use as maintenance and only use 3- 5 times a week to keep them looking long!
13. Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Foundation || This stuff surprised me! I used the concealer and meh (will go into more detail on that later), but this foundation is seriously one of the best I have used. It is very matte and goes on best with a damp beauty sponge. However, once you blend it out it dries and feels matte, but not to matte your face feels stiff. Also, this is more of a medium coverage but is buildable. Oh, and its only like $12..
14. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer || Hands down. I have not found another concealer that does not crease, does cake up, and stays put all day. This concealer 100% needs to be in your makeup bag.
15. Wet n’ Wild Highlighter || I heard about this highlighter from Jaclyn Hill I think, so of course I had to try it for the low price point of $5. So, I got it and oh my goodness. I personally do not think it is as long lasting as Becca, but honey if you just want a quick pop use this! I use Precious Petals every single day.
16. Laneige Water Sleeping Mask || REAL TALK. I changed birth controls and my skin is not near as oily as it used to be! However, even before I switched I loved this mask when I had a sunburn, or just wanted a little glow. Now, I use it a few times a week and wake up to the softest skin and no dry patches from acne treatments! It is such a winner! They also have a Lavender version that you should try out HERE. I will try it once I run out of this one.
So as you can tell, there are a lot of drugstore products on here! That is intentional. So last year around April/May, I really wanted to get a handle on my debt so I started trying to find good drugstore products to save in that aspect of my life. I found some GOOD products, as you can see. I also found some not good products, but I will share those in a later post!
