Let me start off by telling you what kind of skin I have… I am 25 (officially in mid twenties!!!!!) have oily and acne prone skin, freckles (some sun spots- I used to not ever wear sunscreen on my face!), and dullness with dark circles under my eyes with a few forehead lines.
I have never in my life had compliments on my skin, until now… and I am so thankful because in 25 years I have struggled with my skin being dull, having acne, and fine lines! I still get a breakout here and there, but my skin is brightening up and has so much luminosity, with minimal breakouts! I can not believe I am saying this…. but I really think Tula has helped! I used to hate Tula but I really think I was using the wrong products. It was before they had their oily/acne prone line so that is probably why!
Morning Routine
I will start with my morning routine because it is more simple than my evening routine! In the morning, I use THIS cleaner. It is a pro-biotic cleanser and it really makes your face squeaky clean! Then I go in with THIS toner, and then another toner which you can find HERE! I usually give my skin time to dry (about 3 minutes) before moving on. Since I do suffer from hormonal acne, the next step I use is a salicylic acid acne gel. This has been critical in getting rid of the big pimples I used to get around my mouth- however, it did take a few weeks of regular use before I saw a major difference. I am pretty oily, so I go in with this oil-free gel cream to top it off! This gel cream also acts as a primer for your makeup, so I get to eliminate that set in my makeup process! Now this next step I just started doing but OMG, look at the difference these eye masks makes in your under eye area. I will put these on while I am doing my hair and drinking my coffee (usually about 30 minutes) and the difference is astounding. I have my before and after below! The darkness decreased and my under eye is not puffy. Highly recommend!
Nightly Routine
My evening routine is a little bit more extensive! Reason for that being I am not going to be wearing makeup and will not be touching my face throughout the night, so my product has real time to work. First thing I do here is go in with THESE makeup wipes. They are super affordable and can be found at Ulta or Target. They leave your skin glowy and do not dry out your skin like some face wipes can. I like to do this so I know all of my thick makeup is coming off at the end of every night! You can get the value pack for $10, and right now if you buy one you get on 40% off! Check out that deal HERE. My next step is going in with the same cleanser (which you can find HERE) but I use it on my Sonic Clear brush by Michael Todd Beauty. I actually just got this brush from MTB in PR this week and I love how it is gentle enough for my sensitive skin and makes sure I get all of my makeup off! It is also only $89 and comes in 16 different patters and colors! I have the rose gold color! 🙂
Once I cleanse I go in with the same two toners, HERE and HERE. Here are where the differences start coming in! From here, I use a Retin-A cream that you get from the dermatologist to really help prevent acne and wrinkles. This stuff is a god-send my friends. Get some! Since this cream already has a Salicylic Acid in it, you do not want to add the Acne Gel that I mentioned above. That will REALLY dry out your skin! I usually get that cream sit for about 10 minutes before I add anything else to my skin. Once that cream is really set in, I will go in with my serum that is good for brightening! I have only been using it about a week, so I have not seen a significant difference (yet- its a marathon not a sprint!) but I do LOVE how it keeps my hydrated from all of the anti-acne products, and keeps my glowing! Not to mention it smells like oranges so that’s nice :P. I let this serum sit for a few minutes before adding in the same moisturizer as earlier. The last product I use and SWEAR by is this lash serum. It is amazing! I get questions on my lashes multiple times a week and this is the reason for that!
Skincare is a tricky game… what works for me might not work for you! Also, when I began using Tula I remember I was mortified because I had a TON of little bumps on my forehead, then about 5 days later they were all gone. So like I said, marathon not a sprint! You usually have to use a product for about 6-8 weeks in order to see if it will work on your skin. I know waiting that long stinks, and you might break out in the process, but if you come out of that with glowing, gorgeous skin… is it worth it? I used to say no because I swore there was a product out there that would not do that. However, I made myself give this regimen a fair shot and I am so glad I did!
This weekend I am going to try on bridesmaid dresses for my bestie Nicole’s wedding! I am so so excited to see some of my favorite ladies and begin the bridesmaid fun! I hope you guys all have a fantastic weekend and are gearing up for spring, because it is almost here!
